“Z” End of April

I made it through the alphabet!  You have been a wonderful audience for this crazy month of posts. Some interesting stats:

  • This little blog had over 480 views this month, a record — which is over 11% of all views ever.
  • The most active day was April 15 — coincidentally the day US Income Tax returns were due.  Any relationship?
  • There was no spam. (which may just mean that Can I Take A Nap First?  is not easily searchable.  But that’s not a necessarily a bad thing, is it, my elite Nap compadres?)

I enjoyed myself immensely, and am grateful for everybody’s eyes, comments and follows.  I visited a bunch of new blogs, and felt sparked by the creativity of others.  I’m not sure I had any goal other than to successfully complete the challenge, but it was mentally lubricating to create a little something each day.  I hope to post more frequently in general to give you good reason to keep coming by.

My new goal for May is to read 2 poems a day, out loud in the morning and evening.   I recently won a bunch of poetry books, and since I am woefully poem-impaired it seems as if the Universe is delivering a not-so-subtle hint.  I’m starting with Dear Kinfolk, by Gail Fishman Gerwin.

See you on the flip side, dear Nappers.

  1. You zapped it, Rosie! And you’ve inspired others too. I just started on an A to Z challenge, thanks partly to you. Had been thinking about it on and off for a while, but dropping in to read your posts while you were in the thick of it, I thought – yeah, I should just invite some people to do it. With a few people on board, I won’t be able to back out. So that’s what’s happened. Thanks again!

    1. Thanks, Chris. It was fun and the momentum of the posts created a level of confidence that I could actually complete the challenge. But the best part was finding new blogs. There really is a vibrant community of creatives out there. Good luck to you you! I’m digging your posts, too. 🙂

      1. You’re right about discovering new blogs…now if only I had time to keep up with all the blogs I already follow.

    1. Thank you so much for your good wishes. I’m a “follower” of your lovely blog — one of the great benefits of A-to-Z.
I won all these charming books in a silent auction basket. I was the highest bidder because I couldn’t let any books get away! I didn’t know there were so many poetry books until I got home and unwrapped the basket. (I think the Universe was trying to tell me something.)

      1. Ooooh – I’m a big believer in that, something happening for a reason, it’s always worked for me! Thank you for following…

  2. Beautifully done. I enjoyed reading your posts, and am glad to have met you. Fun month, wasn’t it? Two poems a day sounds absolutely lovely. Good luck with that.
Big congrats on completing and thank you for all the beautiful words.

  3. Zounds! Congratulations! Wow, what an endeavor. Hercules has nothing on you. That’s a great idea about the poems. I’m the same way, I have no clue about poetry (other than the big names). I never know what to say when people post their poems online.

    1. Thanks, DD! My poems are sad little attempts — truly doggerel, but I’m amazed at how many different types of poems there are!

  4. Zippity! it was with Zeal that i Zoomed to this blog daily. you were in the Zone. what did it miss? Zilch. would i pay to read it? you bet….two Zuzim.
